Our doors are open

Come and have a look round the kitchens, bedrooms and living
rooms of the authentically reassembled homes and farm buildings
from centuries past. On a spacious 66 hectares you’ll be able to admire typical homes and hamlets from virtually every part of Switzerland.

Watch us at work
Craftsmen demonstrate old crafts and trades in traditional workshops using original tools. There is wood carving, basket weaving, spinning, weaving, bobbin-lace making and forging, cheese making and bread baking, to name but a few.

The perfect place to make new friends
Ballenberg is one of a kind: you and your children have an opportunity to watch the many kinds of farm animals found in Switzerland at close range (some you can even pet). Several species no longer exist elsewhere in the country.

Witness old customs
We revive ancient folk customs, from old-time costumes and dance to linen processing and our traditional autumn market. Further information and dates can be found in the calendar of events or from the information telephone: +41 (0)33 952 10 40.

Still your hunger, quench your thirst
Should you feel hungry or thirsty, visit one of our three pleasant
restaurants for a typically Swiss meal. If a barbecue appeals to you, put your own wood on the fire from ready supplies at one of our picnic areas.
