You soon work up an appetite in an open-air museum. Luckily we have three welcoming restaurants catering for both your hunger and thirst. There is the old inn «Alter Bären» at the west entrance (Hofstetten), the attractive restaurant «Degen» in the heart of the museum grounds and a chalet style building, the restaurant «Wilerhorn» situated at the easily accessible east entrance (Brienzwiler) on the Brünig Pass route.
If a barbecue appeals to you, put your own wood on the fire at one of our picnic areas.
We serve all kinds of food and drink in the various homely rooms in our restaurants - and outside too if the weather is fine: light refreshments, hearty dishes or traditional Swiss specialities, as well as varied daily menus and good value menus for groups.
We will gladly cater for you, your family and friends, (groups please book in advance), with one of our delicious special menus and buffets. Whether for weddings, family get-togethers, business jubilees or coach travellers, we serve culinary delights at Ballenberg and do not shy comparison with today's modern gastronomic experiences.
The three restaurants at Ballenberg are open daily from 10th April 2009 to 31st October 2009 from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m..
