Exploring with the digital museum guide

Our digital museum guide “Ballenberg goes digital” is designed to accompany you during your visit to the Open-Air Museum. It will help you find your way around by providing in-depth knowledge of the buildings and exhibits, additional craft information, suggested routes through the grounds and an overview of the current programme.

Erleben Sie den Ballenberg kompakt: Das Angebot Ballenberg «à la Carte» richtet sich in erster Linie an Menschen mit Beeinträchtigungen.

You will find QR codes at various points around the grounds. They are located on the information boards of the 110 buildings, as well as at tour and scavenger hunt stopping points throughout the Open-Air Museum. You can scan these QR codes directly via the digital museum guide by clicking the red button in the bottom right-hand corner of your smartphone screen. When scanning for the first time, you will be asked to allow the museum guide to access your camera. Nothing will be saved and none of your device settings will be changed.

After scanning a QR code, you will automatically be directed to the right place in the digital museum guide.

They have extensive knowledge of all Ballenberg-related topics and will certainly have one or two anecdotes to tell about their everyday work.
