110 buildings from all over Switzerland are displayed at the Open-Air Museum Ballenberg. Why did they have to be moved from their original locations, and what do these locations look like today?
Over the last fifty years, new living, working, leisure and transport requirements have led to a structural transformation of rural Switzerland. Many a farmhouse has had to make way for progress; just a few were transported to the Ballenberg.
Fourteen short films revisit the original sites of selected Ballenberg buildings to see how they look today, providing an excellent illustration of how Swiss settlements have changed over the last sixty years.
The films were made by:
Dr. Martina Schretzenmayr, Zürich (Idea & Concept)
Simona Casaulta-Meyer, Art&Design Solutions, Küsnacht (Project Management)
Film Production: Rolf Günter, MonteVideo GmbH, Küsnacht
