The mysterious trail from the silkworm to the finished fabric
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of silk production. At the farmstead from Novazzano (851) there are currently two clutches of around 1,000 silkworms, which started at different times on 3 and 17 June. The silkforms feed on the leaves of our own mulberry trees before spinning themselves into cocoons - the basis for fine silk.
During the "Fascination of Silk" weekend, the entire silk production process from silkworn to the scarf is demonstrated: Feeding, unwinding, rewinding, fanning, twisting, carding, spinning, dyeing, weaving.
Guided tours of the silk production take place daily at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00.
