An animal experience for the whole family

This special weekend at Ballenberg celebrates the impressive diversity of Swiss farm animals – and the close, traditional relationship between people and animals on the farm. Be it cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, horses, donkeys or mules – see our animal companions up close!

Schweizerischer Klub für Entlebucher Sennenhunde (SKES), Schweizerische Interessengemeinschaft Eselfreunde (SIGEF) and Die Interessengemeinschaft für das Maultier (IGM) will be our guests.

Admire the impressive Hungarian 'Racka' sheep, our Friends of Ballenberg, or attend fascinating demonstrations where you can learn how animals are traditionally trained to provide support in everyday life. Children can also enjoy donkey rides or face painting. A varied program awaits.

Saturday

• 11 am and 2 pm – performance by the ‘Jungjutzer am Mythen’ children’s choir at the Recreation Pavilion from Sarnen (761)
• 11 am to 2 pm – children’s face painting with ‘Gsichtli Schminke’ at the Recreation Pavilion from Sarnen (761)
• 2.30 pm – animal parade through the grounds

Sunday

• 11 am and 2 pm – performance by Kindertrachtengruppe Sachseln at the Recreation Pavilion from Sarnen (761)
• 2.30 pm – animal parade through the grounds

Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in rural farming culture and its traditional animal husbandry – an experience for the whole family!

The themed days "Wainwright" will take place on the same weekend.
