An animal experience for the whole family

This special weekend at Ballenberg celebrates the impressive diversity of Swiss farm animals – and the close, traditional relationship between people and animals on the farm. Be it cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, horses, donkeys or mules – see our animal companions up close!

Schweizerischer Klub für Entlebucher Sennenhunde (SKES), Schweizerische Interessengemeinschaft Eselfreunde (SIGEF) and Die Interessengemeinschaft für das Maultier (IGM) will be our guests.

Admire the impressive Hungarian 'Racka' sheep, our Friends of Ballenberg, or attend fascinating demonstrations where you can learn how animals are traditionally trained to provide support in everyday life. Children can also enjoy mule rides or face painting. A varied program with an animal parade as a highlight awaits.

Saturday

• 11 am and 2.30 pm – performance by the ‘Jungjutzer am Mythen’ children’s choir at the Recreation Pavilion from Sarnen (761)
• 11 am to 2 pm – children’s face painting with ‘Gsichtli Schminke’ at the Recreation Pavilion from Sarnen (761)
• 11.15 am – animal parade from the Farmhouse from Ostermundigen (331), across Central Switzerland, to the East Entrance
• 1.30 pm - animal parade from the East Entrance, past the "Degen" Restaurant, towards the East Midlands, to the farmhouse from Ostermundigen (331)
• 2 pm to 3 pm - Mule rides for children at the farmhouse from Madiswil (321)
• 3.30 pm - Show block and presentation of the donkeys and mules at the Barn from Faulensee (341)

Sunday

• 11.15 am – animal parade from the Farmhouse from Ostermundigen (331), across Central Switzerland, to the East Entrance
