An animal experience for the whole family

This special weekend at Ballenberg celebrates the impressive diversity of Swiss farm animals – and the close, traditional relationship between people and animals on the farm. Be it cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, horses, donkeys or mules – see our animal companions up close!

Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in rural farming culture and its traditional animal husbandry – an experience for the whole family!

Programme:

• Swiss Club for Bernese Mountain Dog
  Bernese Mountain Dogs, by the farmhouse from Madiswil Berne (321)
  Animal presentations at 11.00 am and 3.00 pm. There will also be a photo corner.
• Presentation of rabbits with young and chickens by the small animal breeders of the Bernese Oberland region
  In the theme zone East Mitlands, forecourt of the granary from Wellhausen Thurgovia (622)
• SIGEF Swiss Association of Donkey Lovers
  At the forecourt of the farmhouse from Ostermundigen Berne (331)
  Saturday morning, 30 May: Donkey walk through Ballenberg
  Sunday before noon, 31 May: Mini gymkhana
  Each afternoon: Donkey show with short performances on the sand pitch of the arena below the barn from Faulensee Berne (341)
  A short donkey workshop invites visitors to join in.
