Schweizer Mühlentag

Mills are an impressive testimony to man’s inventiveness, and represent an important feature of technical development. A Swiss Mills Day is organized every year in order to demonstrate the importance of these cultural assets. The Ballenberg mills will also be in action: the water-driven saw mill from Rafz, Zurich (691) and the two Valais mills from Naters, Valais (1122) and Törbel, Valais (1121).

You can also look forward to the first gathering of barrel organ players from the Bern region, as well as northwestern and central Switzerland. With their hats and nostalgic instruments, these players will perform wistful and cheerful music in the following places: Farmhouse from Uesslingen TG (621), Farmhouse from Eggiwil BE (351), Cheese Dairy from Kandersteg BE (1361), Farmstead from Novazzano TI (851), Craftsman's house from Herzogenbuchsee BE (381), Recreation Pavilion from Sarnen (761), Oven house from Oberwangen BE (312), Smallholder's House with Pottery from Unterseen BE (1051), Farmhouse from Villars-Bramard VD (531).
